A Family Stroll at the Tulip Festival

We spent a day with Mom and Dad and Ann at the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. The weekend was supposed to be stormy and we weren't sure were would be able to go but Mom and Dad made it down from Idaho on Friday night and we had a relaxing evening together.
We had meant to go to the temple that night, but Matthew had had a long hard day at work and we both felt like tucking in a little early. So, Saturday morning Mom and Dad watched little Evelynn while Matthew and I were able to visit the Draper Temple and do initiatory work. We had meant to take in a session but didn't realize that with the Temple not yet fully staffed that you had to make an appointment to attend a session. We ended up being really grateful that we did initiatories instead since it reminded us of the many blessings Heavenly Father promises us and which we in turn hope for Evelynn to have.

By the time we got out of the temple it was raining like crazy and we didn't think we'd be able to go to the Tulip Festival. When we got back to the house we made lunch and by the time we were done eating the rain had moved on although the clouds were still out and about. We hurried off to Thanksgiving Point and really enjoyed walking around in the sporadic sunshine. With the rain just moving through everything was really green and smelled lovely!
Here we happened upon a snail going "full-throttle" across the walk-way. Mom picked him up and deposited him in the grass so that he wouldn't get squished like others of his family had been.

I never knew that snails climbed trees.......but apparently, they do!

Fun with flowers and family :-)

Our very own "flowering tulip"! As you can see.....she's learning about her tongue and is constantly sticking it out now, tasting everything that comes its way ~

~Our growing and blossoming family~
After our stroll, Matthew drove us to some places where his crews have been working on the FrontRunner train project (Ann thoroughly enjoyed almost getting stuck in the mud ;-) and shortly thereafter the rain started again so we had just the perfect timing for everything.
We drove back home where Matthew ran and got some groceries for Sunday and I tried to prepare two sharing time lessons for Primary. Evelynn's schedule had gotten a bit messed up with our running around and she was fussy the whole night until she finally went down for the night. Mom, Dad and Ann had traveled on to Centerville where they went to a play and figured some computer stuff out and Mom and Dad got back to our place around 11:00 p.m. I stayed up until about 1:30 finishing my lesson and getting things ready for Evelynn's blessing. All in all, it was a good day! :-)
